Planning NI

PUBLIC NOTICE: A new planning portal will be launched on 5 December 2022 for 10 of the 11 councils* in NI and the Department for Infrastructure (DfI). As part of the preparations for this change, no updates will be made to the existing system from 18th November 2022 onwards. Therefore there will be no further updates to this download facility. A replacement online data extract tool is being developed and will be available in early 2023. We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this change. In the meantime, customers can contact the individual Councils or Department directly should they wish to obtain data about the planning applications they have received or decided.

Download data related to recent Planning Applications and Decisions

The Department for Infrastructure has introduced a CSV download facility which provides access to a comprehensive suite of planning application data on the following.

  • New and valid planning applications received
  • Recent planning decisions issued
  • Conditions of Approval linked to recent planning decisions
  • Informatives linked to recent planning decisions
  • Reasons for refusal linked to recent planning decisions

All files are provided in a Comma Separated Value (CSV) format

The data extracts page will update each Tuesday morning in an attempt to ensure that all applications received and decisions issued the previous week have been entered onto the planning application database.*

To download a CSV file simply click on the'Download Extract' button after entering the appropriate extract type and relevant dates. A 'File Download' dialogue box will appear, click 'Save' to save the CSV file to your local hard disk.
